Blogathon 2006 is scheduled for 29 July.

Need to check my calendar, as well as catch up on information at the site.  I’ve enjoyed doing this in the past, and am inclined to have another go at it this year.

Ooh! Ooh! Do you know what you’re going to do this year? Comic-a-thons are always appreciated :)

*sigh*

Guess my Faithful Public demands it. :-)

So, yes, more comic-a-thons. And if I said that I’d been saving up TPBs to review over the last year … you’d be right.

So, I’d better get registered over at the site. Maybe tomorrow. Watch this space.

So I’m pondering the sponsorship thing.

I’ve done the past Blogathons for the CBLDF, which is a fine organization that supports comics creators and retailers from dim-bulbs who think comical books are just for 6-year-olds, and anyone who makes or sells a comic for adults is implicitly corrupting the precious bodily fluids of our innocent youth.

Problem is, the CBLDF just hasn’t been doing much. There’s one particular case they’re pursuing right now, but …

Then there’s the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). They’re a much bigger profile organization that “free speech, privacy, innovation, and consumer rights” in the digital realm. They’re a primary plaintiff against AT&T over the NSA phone monitoring stuff.

Both are causes near and dear to my heart (for related reasons), and I’m a member of both organizations. The former is fighting the age-old fight against censorship. The latter is fighting in several new frontiers. The former ties into my likely “comic reviews” theme. The latter is involved in a lot more causes I’m currently interested in.

Or maybe I should support the ACLU

You can count on me as both reader and sponsor. Baby Naomi still gets me up in the middle of the night, so I can keep tabs on your progress. [grin]
