Welcome Reddit folk from http://www.reddit.com/r/GirlGamers/comments/1eawbx/say_im_trying_to_design_attractive_characters_for/ … the picture here was broken for a while, but I’ve fixed that.
Wow. I wish he could have made his point without delving into a rich vein of homophobia.
So women can’t and don’t find men with muscles attractive?
@Phil – No, having big muscles is a male power fantasy, which is why male super-heroes are generally drawn that way.
Thank god someone is finally telling women what they should and shouldn’t find attractive. Its about time men started informing women about what they should like.
I think you’re missing the point.
I don’t think you know what the point is.
Super hero comics, are in general drawn to appeal to men, that’s obviously true seeing as men are the primary readers of comic books. But this comic is so stupid on so many levels. It’s an insipid strawman that does in many ways rely on the idea that the artist of the comic somehow knows what women want sexually and they have to like that.
Women like dudes with muscles, big ones too. If all the guys who were out there getting jacked at the gym weren’t getting women, then what was the point of all that work? Some women like leaner guys, that doesn’t mean they all do. People want to see things they find sexually appealing, big god damn surprise.
The biggest issue that anyone might have with this is that rather than make comics that appeal to their own sensibilities, there is a group of people out there who would rather try and force comics that already exist to fit what they want.
