  1. What a bastard! I remember trying to watch "The Lord of the Rings" and being so upset because some guy named Tolkien did the same damned thing! And all these superhero movies lately? Every stupid one of them has some hack writer trying to sell you a comic book version of it. There oughta be a law!

  2. +Solonor Rasreth That Tolkien is such a fanboi. Not only fanfic about Jackson's films (and getting all sorts of stuff wrong and getting rid of most of the women and the funny dwarf stuff and changing the end and stuff) but he makes up alphabets and secret languages and calendars and all sorts of history/backstory like he's running a D&D game or something.   And then he tries to write this "Silmarilion" thing so that people think he can do something "original" and not so derivative. Yeesh.

  3. Given how long Martin takes to NOT write anything new, I think anything he has made is now well beyond the point at which a spoiler warning is required.

    Seriously.  Storm of Swords was 12 years ago, people.
