No Marshmallow for Me

Alas, both my phone (a 2013 Moto X) and my tablet (a Nexus 10) will not be getting the Marshmallow update to Android. Bummer. My phone's up for contract replacement in the New Year (assuming an adequate funding source, cough cough), but I've had no intention of changing out my tablet, as I love the form factor and 10" tablets are very few in number.

Android Marshmallow: What we know (and suspect) is getting the update [Updated] | Ars Technica
As usual, it’s mostly focused on newish flagship phones and Nexuses.

  1. +andrew mcmillan Yeah, I saw that a few weeks back — essentially a Chromebook running Android, which is kind of odd. Not planning on changing over any time soon at this point, but good to keep in mind.

Samsung has (had?) a 10", but I'd really rather not get a Samsung.

  2. +Dave Hill Look at the Pixel as a new Nexus tablet, more-like. But I too am annoyed over the Moto X 2013 not getting updated. It was marketed as a near-Nexus, yet they took almost a full year to bring it to 5.x and abandoned it shortly after that with a major security breach still floating around. If I didn't root my devices, I'd be even more annoyed.
