Arnold Palmer's (drinkable) legacy

I'm not an Arnold Palmer (the drink) fan myself, though +Kay Hill likes them. But I do find it fascinating actually being able to see the introduction of a new, popular beverage, and knowing its contemporary origin.

How Arnold Palmer Hit A Hole-In-One With His Signature Drink
As we mourn the golf great, we acknowledge another contribution he made to our culture: the tasty and refreshing iced tea and lemonade beverage that carries his name.

  1. I worked for Arnold Palmer at the Bay Hill Club in 1979. Long before he had a drink on the shelves. I would go to the kitchen and mix him a lemonade with our sweet tea.

He was great to work for. I never felt like he looked down on me as one of his wait staff. I was 16 years old then. I also got to be part of his commercials. When he first bought the BHC it was not a PGA stop. He let me Caddie when I was only 12 for the Southern Amateur. I made $40.00 a day! I really loved Arnold Palmer.
