On my new Google Pixel phone

One day later … sharp imagery, snappy performance, great battery life, superior antenna.

At least compared to my first gen Moto X.

Only two things I miss from said Moto X:

1. The minute-interval flash of the time and notification icons when the phone was asleep. I don't think there's an easy substitute for that.

2. The Motorola location-based utility that let me easily turn off sound when at given locations. I know there are a variety of apps available to do that, but none of them have seemed quite a easy to use.

But all that said — no regret so far. It's all about moving into a new, better home, dealing with temporary inconveniences while figuring out how best to arrange the furniture.

  1. Glad you like it! I've been testing for a while and found the Pixel battery life to be truly excellent – after 7 a.m. off-charger, 45 minute trip using Bluetooth headphones and WiFi hotspot and a day out the office, reverse trip, I'm seeing 60% battery left at 10 p.m.
