Movie trailers before "Doctor Strange"

Trailers that showed up in front of our showing of Doctor Strange tonight (and how they struck me):

Rogue One — Yeah, still excited about this. In some ways more excited than for Star Wars VIII. A bit grimmer, a bit grittier, a bit less "destiny!" epic.

XXX – The Return of Xander Cage — Those who like this sort of thing may still struggle to find it the sort of thing they like. Unless lots of slow-mo stunts (half of them looking like CG) are what you like.

The Great Wall — Really didn't feel anything for this one, aside from a general disdain, not for inserting fantasy into history, but doing it badly.

Wonder Woman — Commented on this trailer the other day, and it's still pretty darned cool. And the music was pretty good, too.

Life — The idea of a space station picking up something that has extra-terrestrial life on board is a very cool one. The idea that we're going to take any chance of it either contaminating the crew, or the crew contaminating it, is grossly absurd, and is horror movie logic of the sort that makes this a big "No" in my book.

Power Rangers — It actually made me want to watch a Power Rangers movie. Well, maybe on a trans-Atlantic flight some time.

Pirates of the Caribbean, Part Something or Another — Ho. Also, Hum. While I'm not a believer in spoiling your biggest scenes in a trailer, it would be nice to see something about this movie that hasn't already been done a half-dozen times.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 — Still enthused, though the trailer itself doesn't wow me.

Completely surprised myself by thinking, “Huh. I might actually be in the mood for this flick at some point.”
A Power Rangers movie, for Ghu’s sake.
