E-mail accumulating in my inbox from Thursday p.m. to Wednesday a.m.? 240 pieces.

E-mail left there after I ran my iHateSpam filter? 76.

Two false positives. One false negative.

Yeesh.

Since the guy now in charge of our Messaging group is now in my department, I was able to chat with him a bit about the problem last week. He indicated that coming up with some sort of more solid anti-spam technology is the group’s top priority. It seems the managers who a year or two ago were deathly afraid of false positives and the potential business costs are now aggravated beyond words over this problem. Interesting.
