Patenting the obvious

Creating a product registration system that holds onto the data entered, periodically looks for a network connection, and, when its found, uploads the registration info.

Pretty obvious, simple, and ubiquitous, you’d think, right? I mean, don’t all (or at least most) software registration systems do that?

Guess not, according to the US Patent Office, which just gave Micro$oft a patent on it.
