You see a slightly battered white pickup truck in a parking lot, with the words “Colorado Flagging Co.” written on the side. What does this company do?
A. It installs flagstones and other paving rock, just like the pedestrian section of the parking lot the truck is by.
B. It installs flagpoles and related equipment, just like the flagpoles the truck is near.
C. It’s just getting really, reallytired.
D. Other
Answer below the cut.
The answer is D. Evidently they do “Traffic Control, Delineators, Permanent Signs.” Think “Flag Men” in a construction zone. On one job bank, they describe themselves as “Heavy Highway
sub contractor of traffic control in the State of Colorado. Work Zone Safety is our priority. We also rent traffic control devices to contractors.”
(I guessed wrong. But the name was odd enough, I felt the desire to look it up and share. And here’s a shout-out to those fine folks at Colorado Flagging — traffic control is a thankless job, and we should all drive more carefully in construction zones.)
