So one of the keen things about GMail is the way it threads conversations together into convenient packages. Rather than having to sort by subject and see all the things that were predecessors to a current message, GMail automatically bundles them into an easily referenced (or even forwarded) conversation.
It occurred to me that it would be nice if Outlook could do the same thing. And, after a fashion, it can. In Outlook 2003 (at least), I can go into a folder and specify View / Arrange By / Conversation. Messages will group together, and even group by sub-threads so that which was an answer to what is visible. That’s really handy — though by default the view sorts threads with newest messages at the top but within each thread the conversations are threaded oldest to newest (that can be
modified as a Custom View to show the newest within each thread at the top of the thread, too).
Spiffy.
