Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez has resigned. Doubtless to “spend more time with his family,” as with so many other recent White House resignations. [Insert snarky “family values” comment here.]
He’s outta there!

People may say this is a good thing, but is he going to be prosecuted? Who is the next guy? How do we know he won’t be worse?
Personally I would of liked to see him stay so the whole administration could have received flak. And an investigation would have went right under Bush’s nose.
Gah. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. According to the story, Bush will appoint Chertoff to the position!
I don’t think the chances have changed one way or the other.
Which will require Senate hearings and approval.
While it’s tempting to stick with the “devil you know,” I’d rather see Gonzalez out and move forward with someone else.
You got a good point. You basically have to choose the lesser of two evils. Or at least what will likely be the lesser of two evils. Somehow I have a hard time imagining Bush choosing a decent candidate. 😉
