In trying to diagnose a cable problem, the Comcast Guy replaced our old DCT-3412 Motorola DVR with a shiny new DHC-3416.
Of course this meant we lost all of our DVR subscriptions. And all our recorded shows. Including the 2003 local news on the Village that had Katherine in her pre-school (“Three years old!”). Sigh.
Anyway, this provoked the opportunity to install the new Yamaha receiver (HTR-3063) I picked up a few weeks(ish) back to replace the old one (RX-V461BL) This one actually has HDMI support, which was the big driver for the replacement, to simplify the cabling mess and operation of our huge A/V empire.
I managed to finally get the receiver and TV and cable box all talking together. I even managed to get my 30-second skip-forward working again (huzzah!).
But I still will miss Kitten at 3 years old.
That’s why I got a DVD player that also records. You can put those important things on DVD!
