Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- My “Note in Reader” bookmarklet no longer works. The social: Three-Star Dave
- Post Your Google Plus Updates to Your WordPress Blog | Evolutionary Designs – Whoa. This actually does a goodly chunk of what I’m looking for on the back end — a WordPress plugin pulling (public) Plus posts out and posting them your blog … with the comments (how does it stay caught up?). Still limited to just Public posts, and I’m not sure I want to generate that many articles on my blog (or maybe I do, or just need to be more selective, or something), but it’s still good to know something like this is out there.
- Autostraddle — Super T&A: What’s Wrong With Starfire, DC Comics’s Controversial Superheroine – Nothing much new here, though it contains basically all the controversial Starfire bits (which basically means all the Starfire bits) from the first ish of RHatO.
- Nashville Reporter Tapes His Own Arrest, Records Apparent Police Misconduct As Peaceful Protesters Detained – Sounds a bit more than “apparent” to me.
- Cops Apparently Telling Drunken Street People: ‘Take It To Zuccotti’ – Stay classy, NYPD.
- Spooky nebula – Ooooh.
- How tea party could drive GOP to disaster – CNN.com – I worry more about how they could (and are) driving the US to disaster.
- Google Reader Social Retrospective – A nice summary of the (social) history of Reader — which, apparently, is still slated to be lobotomized.
- Energy from hot rocks abounds – There are plenty of places in the world that make use of a lot of geothermal energy. The US is, unfortunately, not. Not sure why, unless it’s just that it’s not profitable enough for some.
- How A Sheriff Uses His 10,000 Facebook Fans To Solve Crimes – “Social media is a force multiplier”
- Super-Committee Democrats still giving away the store – “But offering to give away the store is still a boneheaded strategy. It moves the terms of debate from ‘what caused the deficit’ to ‘what are we going to cut to pay for it’.”
- strip for October / 31 / 2011 – Heh.
- Time lapse: Crater Lake – We visited there on several vacations. It’s really amazing. Gotta go back some time …
- Don’t Mess With A Cat – Well, that looks like nicely self-correcting behavior.
- Oh, THERE you are, Perry! | Dork Tower – Heh.
- DORK TOWER, Monday, October 31, 2011 | Dork Tower – Happy 15th Anniversary, John Kovalic!
