Goofy, yes — but female superhero poses are so often just bizarro mating displays ("Look, you can see my butt and, at least in side shot, my boobs!"). Really.

Why do cover & poster artists insist on a woman’s knee bent, so that her foot looks really goofy, when she’s standing while kissing? Surely it isn’t to demonstrate something they can’t show happening to the man?
I have yet to feel the urge to kick upwardly backwards when kissing on my own two feet.
@Marina – I assume it’s the same reason why female superheroines always have a leg cocked like that when flying. I.e., no reason I can particularly think of.
