  1. Oh, Girl Genius! I’ve read some but not all of it online. There’s a role play group in Second Life that revolves around that comic (loosely structured, but the Jaegermonsters are hilarious). Also there’s a group of superheroes, but some of them can be pretty insufferable about enforcing inworld TOS.

The Baron is amazing: he never drops character. In fact, I’m not entirely sure he isn’t a benevolent dictator who lives in a fortified airship in real life.

If you want to know more, look me up as Lelani Carver (blog).. The “gaslight Victorian” community is Steelhead; we build stuff, raise A LOT of real money for Relay for Life, and hang out listening to music and “dancing.”

The first hour experience is difficult, but once registered and “inworld” the best place to get a good grounding and learn how to move, dress, and build stuff is Caledon Oxbridge University. Anything Victorian or Steampunk is likely to be a good group of people.

Since you’ve lost something dear (City of Heroes), maybe a new and different direction is possible. You and Margie would be most welcome if you want to try the un-game that is Second Life.

    1. Heh. Thanks, Ginny. I don’t see getting into Second Life (having enough trouble managing the First one), but I’m glad to hear folks are having Jaegerfun in that particular universe.

I’ve read a lot of Girl Genius online, but I tend to lose track, and it’s nice to be able to read more than a page at a time, so I find the books invaluable.
