Like the writer of the article, AA for me is one of the least satisfying air flight experiences. Delta, maybe, rivals it in bad service, but not even they match it in old equipment.
I like the new airplane livery, kinda like the new logo … but unless they improve the experience inside the airplane (and airport), I don't see them being a survivor in the long run.

I switched from United to AA this year and I have to say, the planes aren't all that much better or different, but the attitude of the staff is definitely a lot better on AA.
Living in Denver, I rarely get a chance to fly AA these days, but my experiences have rarely been positive ones.
United, in its case, has been on a downhill incline in service for at least a decade, if not longer.
When I get to choose, I go Southwest or Frontier.
