Cheating is the only successful strategy the GOP has left.
To be honest, this is pretty dumb of the state Democrats. Most organizations set quorums at well over a majority of members. IIRC, calling to check a quorum is a point of order, and thus would have to be answered immediately. So the response should have been for them all to get up and walk out, calling it as the door closes behind the last one.
Still, this is pretty freaking sleezy by the Republicans.
That's an obviously enough tactic, +Gary Roth, that I suspect there was some parliamentary maneuver as to why it wasn't used.
It is long past time that the Dem’s in the states that they control figure out how to play the game of politics, or forever be a minority party.
If cheating the system is legal and backed by the SCotUS, then states like Colorado need to go back and redo the maps and Gerrymander out the GOP any time they too control the governorship and the lege.
If you do’t want to live in a Soviet Style “Democracy”, then step up and min/max and cheat just like your opponent is already cheating, otherwise just plan on moving to Europe sometime this decade where there will still be some form of democracy.
