Reading through the story, it seems like someone in some FAA office has an overly-expansive view of what constitutes "commercial" use of drone videos. Not that these regs have actually been tested in court, even assuming they apply here.

Our government really needs to modernize itself and quick. Hobbyist dont give a shit and these things just make us look silly. If someone wants to make a few bucks I'm cool with it. Certainly we should be able to come up with some common sense laws around this.
