Guardians of the Galaxy: Origins

The new Guardians of the Galaxy animated looks pretty fun. They've been running a series of two-part shorts about the "origin" (more or less) of each character. I'm still bugged by the Drax retcon … but I suppose the original opens up too many cans of continuity worms.

GotG (the Animated Series) premieres on September 26.

  1. +Jesse Butler Except he wasn't born from nothing, but was resurrected / rebuilt by Kronos as a tool to destroy Thanos. Which could make for some interesting characterization, but does require more than a bit of backstory.

Good question as to how much they will delve into Thanos' background. It's probably safe to say it won't have to do with the moons of Saturn (well, probably), but beyond that …

  2. But the resurrection was the first retcon to his origin. His first appearance clearly states he is born of neither mother or father.

(I might have read Iron Man 55 and Captain Marvel 27-34 recently.)
