When my daughter was seven, she was on a huge dinosaur kick, and doing a dinosaur diorama for school. And so one day we sat down with her and we watched <i>Jurassic Park</i>. Which turned out to be one of the few times I seriously misjudged a movie's age appropriateness with my daughter.
(The full story is at https://hill-kleerup.org/blog/2007/10/28/jurassic_park_is_frightni.html and https://hill-kleerup.org/blog/2007/10/29/speaking_of_jurassic_park.html)
Last night, at 16, she finally asked to watch it again, as the wrap-up to #FatherDaughterMovieWeek . And, yeah, I can see now where there's just some dark and creepy stuff going on there that might cause a bit of fright for a seven-year-old.
But it's still an excellent SF/adventure movie that holds up remarkably well after nearly a quarter of a century, from the actors to the music to (most importantly) the top-notch CGI and practical FX.

Score: 4 stars out of 5, with a heart
Did you ever see the group of kids who recreated the entire film clip-by-clip with a vhs recorder and parts they found laying around the house? It's on YouTube. It's a pretty amazing accomplishment.
