Amazed because — well, damn, Animaniacs! Some amazing stuff that started when it was still culturally noteworthy that "Bill Clinton plays the sax" on Arsenio Hall.
Classic cartoons, cultural commentary, and just general zany irreverence and irreverent zaniness. Can it possibly come back today? And be any good? Or will we just get access to some new swag and count ourselves lucky.
What were your favorite Animaniacs bits?
Here’s Hoping the Upcoming Animaniacs Reboot Stays True to Its Irreverent Roots
Slappy Squirrel – That one where they went to Woodstock and did the "Who's on First" bit with band names was amazing.
The kiss who would come out between features and tell a story about Randy Beaman was also a consistent treat.
"Okay so this one time Randy Beaman's aunt went up to her cabin and was sitting with her feet over the edge of the porch and she felt this lick-lick-lick on her feet and she thought it was a dog, but it wasn't. It was just this crazy guy who liked to do that a lot.
Okay. Bye."
I also loved the "for parents" jokes.
"Should we get Dr. Scratchensniff a gift from Oedipus Rex?"
"Nah, his mom would hate it."
Everything musical!!
The original Pinky and the Brain segments!
The "Good Idea, Bad Idea" bits and the occasional toilet humor bits like Wakkorotti xD
Can't wait!! =D
I'm oddly fond of Chicken Boo.
+Andy Brokaw I also love Chicken Boo — both as commentary on people seeing what they want to see, and as a segment with an odd poignancy to it.
+Bill Dezell Slappy Squirrel is a national treasure.
+Rico McSuave The musical numbers were a delight — from the Countries of the World, to the Cheese song.
Everyone else beat me to mentioning my favorite bits, so I’ll just add Goodfeathers. 🙂
