I somehow never got around to seeing this movie for several years, until a friend’s comment made me realize I wanted to.
Ultimately, it’s a marvelously crafted puzzle box that failed to make me care about anyone in the movie. It was an intellectual exercise that never inceived an emotional connection. Worth a watch, certainly, but that’s all.

A ★★★★ review of Inception (2010)
There’s a lot I like about this film, even while ultimately not caring for it all that much. On the positive side, the worldbuilding and mind-messing-with (both in-movie and of the viewer) are delightfully done. The film succeeded in pulling me in to the extent that I wanted to understand how things worked, what the IMF, er, thieves were doing in their caper, and how it would affect the individuals. The movie succeeds on all these levels, providi…
Wow, you hadn’t seen it yet!? That is amazing.
Yeah, it’s a great movie.
Zimmer's score for this one makes my spine tingle.
+Stan Pedzick It's also fascinating the number of folk in it who Chris Nolan went on to incorporate into his Batman trilogy.
+Dave Hill He's one of those directors who likes to use the same actors, for sure.
It was an intense movie to watch as you could not lose your attention
+Dave Hill speaking of Chris Nolan, have you seen Dunkirk yet? Also very creative way in which it told the story and frelling intense.
+Stan Pedzick It's on my list somewhere to watch. 🙂
I'll confess I'm not a huge Chris Nolan fan. I watched the first of his Batman trilogy and didn't feel particularly compelled to follow up with the rest.
+Dave Hill I liked the middle one, but that was completely because of Heath Ledger’s Joker. The first and third were meh.
+Stan Pedzick I take it back; I watched the second one, yes, for Ledger.
