The “New York is going to be nuked — the Bible tells me so” folks are still out there with their rolling “True Bible Code” forecast of DOOOOOOM.  I haven’t checked in with them since October (when they were sure it was going to happen in December), but Les dropped by the other day.

The UN in Midtown Manhattan will be hit by a sea borne dirty bomb or nuclear bomb during the month of 2007Nisan. […] Now if we add 6,000 years to 3993Nisan14, then we end up on 2008Nisan14 (March 21st 2008). And that is the last day of this world – see www.biblecodeintro.com/intro44.html. The Kingdom of God begins on the 3rd day inclusively thereafter i.e. 2008Nisan16 (2008 March 23rd), and then Armageddon lasts 200 days and is over by 2008Heshvan6 (October 9/10). Jesus comes down on 2008Iyyar29 (May5/6) to sort out the sheep from the goats, and the faithful are raptured on 2008Tammuz1 (June 6/7), in our present understanding. 

[…] The point is that a typical pregnancy period after the UN starts saying: ‘Peace and Security’, they suffer a sudden destruction. The average length of a pregnancy from conception to delivery is 266 solar days or 38 weeks. The average length counting from the last period is 40 weeks. The UN itself has its birthday (UN day), on October24 because on 1945October24 China, the last Permanent Member of the Security Council, ratified the UN treaty. So the UN was fully formed and therefore born on October 24th 1945, which is now known as its birthday.

Whereas the UNPBC took its final form on 2006May16 with the election of its last 7 members. So it was fully formed and hence born on that day. So if we count 266 solar days forward from 2006May16, we should get the day that the UN suffers a sudden destruction, plus or minus 2/3 weeks, since 90% of pregnancies last between 38 and 43 weeks from the last period. So they last between 36 and 41 weeks from conception. Well 266 solar days after 2006May16 is 2007February6. So this would be the due date for the first birth pang, the sudden destruction at the UN. But since normal term babies can be 2 weeks early or 3 weeks late, we expect the terrorist attack to occur between 2007January23 (2006Tebbeth29/30) and 2007February27 (2006Adar4/5). But thereagain babies are commonly delivered in the 44th or 45th week from the  last period, so the attack might fall any time in 2006Adar. And again babies can come in the 46th or 47th or 48th week but rarely. So the max limit of this pregnancy is around April 3, 2007 (2007Nisan15).

Okay, I’m lost now (and that’s just a tiny sampling from the page).  They’ve gotten a bit cagier about actually equating the Nuke Date with a calendar that most folks would recognize, at least on the page I’ve been visiting.  But on their main page …

The first birth pain of the coming Kingdom of God, is a nuclear attack on the United Nations in our present understanding… We now predict a terrorist Dirty Bomb or Nuclear Bomb will hit the UN plaza in Midtown Manhattan sometime in Nisan 2007, i.e. on or before Sundown Thursday April 19th, 2007

Aha!  An actual date/deadline!

If nothing happens by then, we will not be able to stretch many of our 16 flexiproofs any further in our present understanding. We also understand that the UN reformed to its 4th and final form on 2006Chislev30 (around Christmas Eve) – see UN expansion date. But even if this is true, it cannot be a visible sign which anyone can see until after the sign of Jonah which is the first birth pang of the Kingdom, the UN bomb! So it would have to be a non declared UN decision for the moment.

That is the best understanding we have at present. In fact this whole series of nuclear prediction blunders has been the most ghastly thing that the LWs have done. But we are commanded to keep on seeking, knocking and asking, and so that is precisely what we do. In fact we are commanded by Joshua 6 to go round in interpretational circles after the month of arriving outside Jericho (2006Iyyar, when we first told the Watchtower they were going to be destroyed), for 7 more months (a day for a month – we performed no interpretational circles in 2006Heshvan – so that month does not count as a day). And we are commanded by 1 Kings 18:43 to go back to look for a mushroom cloud ascending from the sea, after the month of our first mistaken prediction of the destruction of the Watchtower (2006Sivan12) for 7 more months (a time for a month). 7 months only mind you in each case. So we are no longer making any attempt to get the very day of the first birth pang, in accordance with these understandings. But we are still predicting this event accurate only to the month.

Well, as long as they’re not striving to be too accurate …

Y’know, Kate, I wouldn’t rush any moving plans beyond what’s convenient for you.

Ironically, their front page starts off with these lines:

The beginning of Wisdom is the statement: I don’t know.
The beginning of Righteousness is the statement: I screwed up.

While admitting in a number of places that they’ve screwed up their many guesses to date (Les counts this as the 30th prediction), they might go back to that first line once again and ponder its true meaning.
