Movie Review: "Star Trek Beyond" (2016)

A lot better and more entertaining than the original trailer would have had you believe. Occasionally over the top, but also grounded by some major character themes worth considering.

Score: 3.5 out of 5 stars (with a heart)

And that wraps up #FatherDaughterMovieWeek with +Kay Hill. Always a good time!

  1. I couldn't resist seeing this while i was in Perth with Ray and Alethea Raspa. Between us we started WesTrek in Perth. Long gone now but in any case they're long term friends of mine, and – well we all pretty much loved it. A certain degree of silliness in it, but there was an enthusiasm and return to form I thought. Of course I'd never say that in the Google Star Trek community, because there'd be endless debates on JJ Abrams et al.

But it was no worse than some old Trek Films, and I though that most of the characters got roles which were pretty good.

  2. One of the best star trek films in a long time. Could of had a bit more comedy in it. But I definitely give it 5 stars. Let's hope that there is another star trek film in the pipeline. Love long and prosper

  3. But there need not be all the characters in a 4th film. This is new uncharted territory. That would be one way of dealing with the issue of Anton Yelchin's death. Hell, I'd love to see a "Captain Sulu" series!!!!
