BBC has unveiled the new logo for Doctor Who. I like it, I really do, but, frankly, it feels like we’ve had more Doctor Who logos since the 1995 restart than we’ve had Doctors, and some of them were quite good, too.
Is there a special logo-generating office at the Beeb that has to keep coming up with new logos or else lose their budget?

Yep, use to be new logos happen when a new Doctor happened, which would be legit in this case.
+Stan Pedzick Agreed. That makes sense. The perception I have that it's kind of a "Hey, let's create a new logo because it's been a slow season!" is not complementary to the show.
+Dave Hill agreed, it feels like they’ve redone them like every two years or so on the new series.
It's a bit 'Star Wars-y'.
I'd like to add my two cents in… It kind of feels like the new logos come about when there's a major turning point in the series, or a change in the feel of the series that the logo goes with. Just a thought, anyway.
