Links (most recent first) that caught my eye, but did not warrant full-blown blog entries ….
- What America has learned of the UK justice system from UK Law & Order – I’ve been having great fun watching this. It’s just as formulaic as the US version, but with a some fun turns. And I really love the Lenny Briscoe analog …
- Pregnant Lady Booted From Bar For Totally Inane Reason – It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if she’d said no. Would he have called the police? Would he have laid hands on her? Just nuts.
- Why women shouldn’t be “burdened” with the vote: 1915 – Wow, that’s really crazy. And, yet, 106 years later, you can hear just the same class of crazy-talk on today’s issues.
- Rush Limbaugh’s Tucson Billboard Is Just Perfect [Badvertising] – Wow, that is just so … perfectly illustrative.
- Weather so severe it generates antimatter – Yikes! A contra-perfect storm!
- Gingrich Front Group Calls For Punishing Judges By Eliminating Their Court – Stay classy, Newt!
- First Official Photos: Jim Carrey in ‘Mr. Popper’s Penguins’ – I freaking LOVED this book as a kid. I hope they do it well.
- For His Blog: Man Has Been Taking Pictures Of Same Vending Machine For 5 Years – Well, there are more worthless (or destructive) hobbies … if it brings him joy, more power to him.

1. I didn’t realize that I could be watching this! DVR set now, and I’m going to do a little catching up with Comcast’s online viewing.
2. Does the bar charge for water? If not, maybe they kicked her out because they weren’t making any money off her.
4. I’ll lay odds that Rush claims the billboard’s removal had nothing to do with the furor over the shooting. The timing will be explained as “purely coincidental.”
7. I never heard of that book. I see that the penguins in the movie are Gentoo, not Adelie (which are the more “stereotypical” penguins). Gentoo do better in the studio, I expect, being sub-Antarctic. They’re larger, too, which may have been a consideration.
9. I wish he had displayed the common name as well as the scientific name. Quite a bit of variation among them, huh?
