Some photos of irises in our yard. I confess to a weakness for this flower, which leads to both magnificent beds for a few weeks each year, and additional expense at the Botanic Garden Plant Sale each year, too.
The press on this, tech and photo, has been largely positive (if for no other reason than the Verizon acquisition of Yahoo is seen as spelling doom for the properties not sold off). SmugMug, as a paid photography site, has a good rep, so I’m not immediately worried about something awful happening to my many Flickr photos (while I’ve been lax in posting stuff up there recently, vs Google Photos, I have a lot of content from the past there).
So, optimistic, until I hear something otherwise.

I really don’t feel like we’ve had winter yet.
Not that we aren’t out of the woods (in Denver terms) for major snowfall. That said, and acknowledging that crocuses are crazy-early at the best of times, it still feels like spring is i-cummin in a wee bit too soon.

“I guess there’s enough hot air coming out from the kick vent to keep us both warm this evening. As long as I don’t have to acknowledge your presence.”
No, I jest. Rather than reading the news feed, I’m pretty certain Kunoichi is just keeping her butt warm on my laptop.
Which, all told, probably is in fact a lot more satisfying that reading about what new crazy thing Trump has done TODAY.
Holiday Decorating Pro-Tip: If sitting on one rug is comfy, sitting on a stack of rugs is the comfiest.
I love this time of year in Denver. The evenings are cooling off. The days are still warm enough to walk around in shorts and sandals. The yard is still green and blooming, even as the trees start to turn. Right now, we’ve got a bumper crop of butterflies in the neighborhood, enjoying all the flowers in our yard.
Good times.
It seems the +Kay Hill is doing keyboard work with her school Winter Percussion group, so while we're out in California for the holidays, she getting some piano lessoning from +Gloria Hill.
We've been cat-sitting the In-Laws' cat, Souffle, the past few days. She provided some photo ops against the Christmas Tree last night.
We got a fair amount of snow — and it's still coming down — but what probably caused more concern was the drifting from the wind.
We're supposed to get another 3" or so over the course of the day — which may mean some changes to plans for this evening (for better and worse).

It rained/snows last night, the first true sign of the end-of-year seasons rolling in here in Denver. Taking a walk this afternoon, there were some of those magical moments where I passed through areas suffused in golden light from leaves on trees and the ground.
Which meant I stopped reading and started taking pictures of fall colors.
Being a California boy, having a true autumn never gets old for me.
