Margie and I tend to duo a lot, which is tremendous fun (indeed, it’s a great thing we do together, as opposed to a lot of other hobbies we do in parallel). Here are the combos:
- Velvet (21) and P-Siren (21) – Tank and Defender. Our “elder statesmen” and Freedom Phalanx toons. Beginning to break into the IP/Talos area.
- Psi-clone (18) and Amorpha (18) – Controller and Scrapper. Current faves to run together. Co-leaders (as Peppermint Patty and Marcy) of the Consortium.
- Honeygun (15) and Kazima (15) – Blaster and Scrapper. Perennial favorites at the Cavern of Transcendence. Also fun, though we run into aggro problems (of both our making).
- Torchielle (15) and TT (13) – Blaster and Tank. This is one where Margie should be doing soloing to get TT up to level (Torchy got a bonus running through the one successful Transcendence trial.)
- Truly Unstable (9) and Carilian (9) – Defender and Controller. Our slowest group, but still fun to play (and hard to stop).
- OFFICER (8) and Deep Dark Earth (8) – Scrapper and Controller. A strong pair as well. I enjoyed running them last night.
That leaves Selene (Scrapper 9) and Sister Chinook (Controller 8) as currently “unattached” from my stable, and Hot Shotz (Blaster 10) and K-Two (Scrapper 6) in Margie’s. Which means those are the folks who, when we have a chance, we should be soloing with — or else the slots that, come Issue 4, we’ll be filling with new people.
UPDATE: It’s worth noting that we often add some excitement to our duos by inviting in one of BD’s characters to make it a threesome. Variety is, after all, the spice of life …
Saw that you had the youngins out last night.
Also had fun watching you blink off and on on the Friends list.
Puck came across somebody on the comms who she dislikes, which is a bit of a shock really.
Puck’s new nick name for this person is Tweety. Slap fight to be scheduled at a later date.
Velvet and P-Siren are welcome to team with me in IP, Talos and Striga. Soloing those areas can be a bit unsettling.
Currently, my contacts are as follows:
Talos Island: Cain Royce, Hinckley rasmussen
Striga Isle: Stephanie Peebles
I know the person you’re talking about, Stan — great player whom I’ve scheduled time with to dial back her characters very acerbic behavior. For sheer annoyance level, she’s a n00b compared to people like Reese or AngloStar, but they aren’t in an SG.
Only upside there is that the players very open to making alterations.
In fact, with a little time to kill before work today, I decided to poke my head into a Skyway City office building that one of my contacts told me was being used by Sky Raiders. I cleared the lower floor, using two Healing Inspirations (darn those Force Field Generators, anyway!), but the second floor looks to be considerably more difficult. Lower floor was green-white for the 22nd level Avocet, second floor starts out with white and yellow guys (and I don’t like the looks of the glowing hands on those Porters!). I guess I’d better load up on “green pills” before I try this one again.
I thought that AngloStar was picked up last week.
As to Tweety…I guess if she gets to the point that she pisses off everybody, then deal with her. But, since four or five Phalanxers went to her rescue last night must mean most folks are fine with her. Personally, I’m fine with the fact that Puck has somebody to be catty at.
Thanks, Avo. Velvet owes P-Siren a cape-and-recostume escort real soon now.
The fading in and out was more than a little irksome. Especially since it kept happening in mid-melee, to one or the other of us.
I have a lot of fun running in a duo or small groups. I’m surprised that the Thunderclaps will be the first pair that we have created with a joint back story. That should make role playing easier. (Sometimes it’s hard to explain why our character are teamed up.)
With the new anime costumes, I would love to see a whole consortium team, complete with back story. We could start together in Outbreak and get the badge. Then move on to take Paragon City by storm.
(I know that Doyce wants a Norse themed group. I don’t know if we could put the two ideas together. Hmm… sort of Oh My Goddess.)
That would be … interesting …
I am looking forward to the Thunderclaps, once the added I4 costume features are in place.
As to why certain duos are running together … well, we have (something of a) backstory for PC and Amorpha, and I have some ideas for Velvet and PS.
Indeed, there might be some RP posts possible from that …
