Not sure what the precise date issue was, but I got my 5 Year / 60 Month “City Traveller” badge this evening.
Which is kind of a cool QoL feature, basically letting you take at Lvl 6 a main Travel Power without the pre-req pool power. E.g., you can now take Fly without taking Hover or Aerial Assault. I suspect this will be most helpful for Fly and TP; most Super-Speed folks use Hasten as well (as do most supers, regardless of travel power), and Combat Jump is a reasonable power on its own, even if you’re angling for Super-Jump.
I’m not far behind on this one (late Feb for me), although my CoX playing must now be around an hour a month made up of the odd mission here and there or a bit of a fly around when I feel like it. I think the 5 yr Vet reward’s pretty cool as my travel power of choice is Fly, but mostly find a need for Hasten, which has left me with a lot of SS toons. Now I can have both without wasting any extra slots.
I’ve pretty much given up on CO though. My 6 month purchase lasts until March, so I do dip in now and then, but it’s just not doing it for me. I realise CoX was mostly mob bashing, but it seemed to disguise it better. I don’t remember ever being asked to kill 50 CoT [enter specific type here] in Skyway City or wherever. Maybe 10 or so CoT in general, but not 50 or more of a specific type. Plus, at last in CoX if you did do some street clearing for whatever reason, you got decent rewards for doing it (assuming you picked the right level mobs). I can’t help but feel I’m wasting my time in CO as you basically get nothing until the mission is over. Therefore missions that take a long time feel quite depressing.
On a slightly different note, you may have gathered I’ve played both the closed and open betas of STO. I have mixed feelings about it (still mostly positive), but will wait to see if you write a post on it before taking over with my thoughts! : )
Otherwise, I watched the Going Rogue presentation on You Tube and am pleased that it’s looking pretty good. I’m hoping that’ll get me back into CoX for a while later in the year.
