Not your average brownie! No one will ask if these came from a box.
Ingredients – first layer:
- 1 squares unsweetened chocolate (2 oz)
- 1/2 c butter
- 1 c sugar
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 1/2 c flour
- 1/2 c nuts, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla
Ingredients – middle layer:
- 1/2 c butter
- 1/2 c sour cream
- 1 c powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Ingredients – top layer
- 4 squares semisweet chocolate (4 oz)
- 2 Tbs butter
Directions – bottom layer:
- Preheat oven 350°.
- Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler.
- Pour over sugar.
- Mix
- Add other ingredients.
- Mix well.
- Pour into grease 9×13 pan.
- Bake a brief 20 minutes.
- Cool.
Directions – middle layer:
- Cook butter, sour cream, powdered sugar over low heat to soft ball stage. (235° – 240°)
- Add vanilla.
- Pour over cooled brownies.
- Put in refrigerator until firm.
Directions – top layer:
- Melt butter and chocolate over hot water.
- Pour over white topping.
- Refrigerate until served.
Serves: 3 dozen small brownies (They are really rich!)
