{"id":1114,"date":"2014-11-15T15:19:10","date_gmt":"2014-11-15T22:19:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=1114"},"modified":"2022-08-07T16:57:38","modified_gmt":"2022-08-07T22:57:38","slug":"sourdough-biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/sourdough-biscuits.html","title":{"rendered":"Sourdough Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Biscuits are faster to make than bread &#8211; and 4th graders cannot wait!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>Ingredients<\/b><strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 c primary batter (See Sourdough Starter)<\/li>\n<li>1 c flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c butter, melted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Wash your hands!<\/li>\n<li>Mix ingredients, except butter, gently. Dough will be very soft.<\/li>\n<li>Turn out on floured board and knead for approximately 1\/2 minute.<\/li>\n<li>Roll out with floured rolling pan (or pat with floured hand until about 1\/2 inch thick.<\/li>\n<li>Cut with floured biscuit cutter.\u00a0 Or small empty juice can)<\/li>\n<li>Carefully lift and dip in butter.<\/li>\n<li>Place close together on pan.<\/li>\n<li>Place in warm place for proofing for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Bake 30 &#8211; 35 minutes at 375\u00ba.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>(I have been know to cheat and add a little yeast to insure the kids had successful biscuits.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: \u00a0<\/strong>Makes 12 biscuits<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source: \u00a0<\/strong>Ginger Kleerup<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Biscuits are faster to make than bread &#8211; and 4th graders cannot wait!
