Just mixed them in with the rest of the ingredients. I baked it and then reheated it later in the microwave.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 lb bacon, diced<\/li>\n<li>4 cloves garlic, minced<\/li>\n<li>16 oz cream cheese, softened (I discovered the &#8220;spreadable&#8221; cream cheese does not work as well as the block cream cheese &#8212; it melts!)<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd c heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>6 oz blue cheese, crumbled<\/li>\n<li>4 Tbs fresh chives, chopped<\/li>\n<li>4 Tbs almonds, chopped<\/li>\n<li>Crackers or sliced baguette for serving<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0<\/li>\n<li>In nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium-high heat about 8 minutes or until nearly crisp. Drain bacon and wipe skillet dry<\/li>\n<li>Return bacon to pan, add garlic and cook over medium heat until bacon is crisp, about 2 minutes. Make sure garlic doesn&#8217;t burn.<\/li>\n<li>Drain on paper towels<\/li>\n<li>Using paddle attachment of electric mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth<\/li>\n<li>Add cream, beat well to mix<\/li>\n<li>Fold in bacon, garlic, blue cheese, and chives<\/li>\n<li>Transfer to 1 quart baking dish, top evenly with almonds.<\/li>\n<li>Bake about 30 minutes or until heated through.<br \/>\nServe with crackers, baguette slices or vegetables<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>Serves:<\/b> Makes 4 cups, serves 20<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><b>Source:<\/b> Reader&#8217;s Digest from Morton&#8217;s the Cookbook by Klaus Fritsch<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><strong>Comments:<\/strong> \u00a0I had cooked bacon and chives in the freezer so used that and store-bought chopped garlic.
