{"id":1484,"date":"2015-02-03T05:47:34","date_gmt":"2015-02-03T12:47:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=1484"},"modified":"2016-03-08T13:50:12","modified_gmt":"2016-03-08T20:50:12","slug":"sun-valley-smoked-salmon-cheesecake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/sun-valley-smoked-salmon-cheesecake.html","title":{"rendered":"Sun Valley Smoked Salmon Cheesecake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"LEFT\"><em>Anything with puff pastry and smoked salmon has to be called gourmet!!<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> 1 medium onion, minced<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">3 Tbs butter<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">1 \u00be lbs cream cheese<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">1\/3 c half and half<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">\u00bd c Gruy\u00e8re cheese, shredded<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">1\/2 tsp pepper<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">4 eggs<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">\u00bd lb smoked salmon, finely chopped<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li>1 pkg puff pastry (2 sheets)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>Directions:<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Saute onions in butter until tender, not browned<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Combine cream cheese and half and half. Cream until smooth.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Add onion, cheese, pepper. Mix well.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Add eggs, one at a time beating slowly just until incorporated.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Stir in salmon.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Cut each sheet of puff pastry in half lengthwise<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Fold all edges up 3\/8 inch to make a rim. Pinch to seal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Divide mixture between the four crusts and bake at 350<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">\u00b0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\"> for 30 minutes or <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> until center is set.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Chill 2 hours.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Cut each pastry in half lengthwise and then into 1 inch strips.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"> Serve on tray.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>Serves: <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\">64 pieces<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>Source: <\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\">Bless the Cook, St Thomas Episcopal Church, Sun Valley, Idaho<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>Comments:\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span style=\"font-size: large\">The original recipe had a walnut crust, but had no quantities for walnuts,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: large;line-height: 1.5\">cheese or butter!
