{"id":1535,"date":"2015-02-09T05:35:51","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T12:35:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=1535"},"modified":"2016-01-24T04:24:57","modified_gmt":"2016-01-24T11:24:57","slug":"egg-flower-soup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/egg-flower-soup.html","title":{"rendered":"Egg Flower Soup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>For meat lovers, you can add a \u00bd cup of diced leftover barbecued pork, cooked\u00a0shrimp, or ham lunch meat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 c Swanson&#8217;s low fat chicken broth<\/li>\n<li>2 medium carrots<\/li>\n<li>1 c snow peas<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd c frozen chopped spinach<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>1 nori 8-x-7-inch sheet<\/li>\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp sesame oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp white pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In a medium soup pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Julienne the carrots into match stick size pieces \u00bd in long.<\/li>\n<li>Snap off the snow pea stem ends and remove fibrous strings. Slice to 1\/2\u201dpieces.<\/li>\n<li>Add carrots and cook for 2 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add snow peas and spinach.<\/li>\n<li>Dissolve the cornstarch in 2 teaspoons of cold water.<\/li>\n<li>Add cornstarch solution to broth and cook, stirring, until the soup comes to a boil.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the nori into 1\/8-inch strips.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in the nori.
