{"id":1546,"date":"2015-02-12T19:22:55","date_gmt":"2015-02-13T02:22:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=1546"},"modified":"2015-04-03T15:59:46","modified_gmt":"2015-04-03T21:59:46","slug":"apple-and-apricot-crisp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/apple-and-apricot-crisp.html","title":{"rendered":"Apple and Apricot Crisp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Comfort food on a dark and rainy day.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Topping Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 c flour<\/li>\n<li>1 c old fashion rolled oats<\/li>\n<li>1 c brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>\u00be c butter, melted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Topping Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blend flour, brown sugar, salt, oats and butter until mixture resembles coarse meal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Filling Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 orange grated zest and juice of<\/li>\n<li>1 \u00bd c dried apricots (7.5 ounces), coarsely chopped (use scissors)<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c brandy<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd c granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ground cinnamon<br \/>\n6 large Granny Smith apples peeled, quartered and sliced thin crosswise<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Fil<\/strong><strong>ling Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 375 degrees\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, soak the apricots in brandy and orange juice for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>In a buttered 9&#215;13 inch glass baking dish, toss together apples, apricots,\u00a0brandy\/orange juice, orange zest, sugar, and cinnamon<\/li>\n<li>Spread evenly in pan.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle oat mixture evenly over top.<\/li>\n<li>Pat topping down gently.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is browned. It may\u00a0take longer depending on the apples.<\/li>\n<li>Serve with Brandy Mascarpone on top<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong> Serves:<\/strong> 10 -12<\/p>\n<p><strong> Source:<\/strong> Get Off Your Butt and Bake.
