{"id":179,"date":"2011-03-30T14:05:16","date_gmt":"2011-03-30T21:05:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=179"},"modified":"2015-03-13T15:46:00","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T21:46:00","slug":"cherry-crulnch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/cherry-crulnch.html","title":{"rendered":"Cherry Crunch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This was one of the first recipes I &#8220;collected&#8221; when I was in high school.\u00a0 We made it at a sleep-over (we used to call then slumber parties) and ate it all out of the pan.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><em>Filling:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>40 oz canned pie cherries<\/li>\n<li>6 T flour<\/li>\n<li>red food coloring<\/li>\n<li>1 t vanilla<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Crust and topping:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 c quick oats<\/li>\n<li>2 c brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0t salt<\/li>\n<li>3 c flour<\/li>\n<li>1\u00bc\u00a0c oil<\/li>\n<li>1\u00bd\u00a0t baking soda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00b0<\/li>\n<li>Mix sugar and flour<\/li>\n<li>Add\u00a0 juice drained from pie cherries.<\/li>\n<li>Boil until thick<\/li>\n<li>Add cherries, food coloring and vanilla.<\/li>\n<li>Mix crust\/topping as for pie crust.<\/li>\n<li>Press half of crust\/topping into 9&#215;13 pan.<\/li>\n<li>Spread with cherries mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle other half of oat mixture on top.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 350\u00b0\u00a0for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves<\/strong>: 12-16<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: Can be served with whipped cream or ice cream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source<\/strong>: Lynn\u00a0 Ready &#8211; El Cajon<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This was one of the first recipes I &#8220;collected&#8221; when I was in high school.\u00a0 We made it at a sleep-over (we used to call then slumber parties) and ate it all out of the pan.
