{"id":1828,"date":"2015-03-18T04:17:02","date_gmt":"2015-03-18T10:17:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=1828"},"modified":"2015-03-18T04:17:02","modified_gmt":"2015-03-18T10:17:02","slug":"green-beans-with-caramelized-sweet-onions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/green-beans-with-caramelized-sweet-onions.html","title":{"rendered":"Green Beans with Caramelized Sweet Onions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Pretty simple, but a nice variation on \u00a0theme.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 Tab butter (\u00bd stick)<\/li>\n<li>2 large sweet onions, quartered and thin sliced<\/li>\n<li>2 lbs fresh green or frozen green beans<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet.<\/li>\n<li>Add onions and cook over medium heat 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden\u00a0and tender.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, cook green beans in lightly salted boiling water to cover until crisp-tender.<\/li>\n<li>Drain green beans. Return to pot.<\/li>\n<li>Reserve some of the saut\u00e9ed onions to use as a garnish<\/li>\n<li>Add remaining onions to pot.<\/li>\n<li>Add salt and pepper and toss to coat.<\/li>\n<li>After serving, scatter reserved saut\u00e9ed onions over top.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> 10<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> By Woman&#8217;s Day Kitchen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pretty simple, but a nice variation on \u00a0theme.
