{"id":2551,"date":"2015-08-21T14:43:33","date_gmt":"2015-08-21T20:43:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=2551"},"modified":"2022-09-04T12:25:53","modified_gmt":"2022-09-04T18:25:53","slug":"gullivers-creamed-corn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/gullivers-creamed-corn.html","title":{"rendered":"Gulliver&#8217;s Creamed Corn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Gulliver&#8217;s restaurant was started by a chef from Lawrey&#8217;s. \u00a0Roast beef, creamed corn, creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding and trifle &#8211; doesn&#8217;t get much better!\u00a0 Found a recipe &#8220;Creamed Corn recipe from the Ritz&#8221;.\u00a0 Looks the same to me!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 ears of corn (20 oz frozen)<\/li>\n<li>1 c whipping cream<\/li>\n<li>1 c whole milk<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>6 tsp sugar<\/li>\n<li>pinch of cayenne<\/li>\n<li>2 Tab\u00a0butter<\/li>\n<li>2 Tab flour<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c grated Parmesan cheese<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut corn from cob.<\/li>\n<li>Place in a saucepan with cream.<\/li>\n<li>Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in salt, sugar and cayenne.<\/li>\n<li>Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter in a small pan.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in flour.<\/li>\n<li>Stir to cook but do not brown.<\/li>\n<li>Stir the roux into corn and stir until slightly thickened.<\/li>\n<li>Turn corn into a ovenproof dish.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with cheese.<\/li>\n<li>Brown under broiling unit.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves: \u00a0<\/strong>8-10<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source: \u00a0<\/strong>Gulliver&#8217;s, Orange, CA<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gulliver&#8217;s restaurant was started by a chef from Lawrey&#8217;s. \u00a0Roast beef, creamed corn, creamed spinach, Yorkshire pudding and trifle &#8211; doesn&#8217;t get much better!\u00a0 Found a recipe &#8220;Creamed Corn recipe from the Ritz&#8221;.\u00a0 Looks the same to me!
