{"id":2584,"date":"2015-09-02T11:29:32","date_gmt":"2015-09-02T17:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=2584"},"modified":"2016-02-02T14:18:23","modified_gmt":"2016-02-02T21:18:23","slug":"orange-chocolate-cheese-cake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/orange-chocolate-cheese-cake.html","title":{"rendered":"Orange Chocolate Cheese Cake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This is an old recipe from the 60&#8217;s &#8211; not instant but worth the effort. \u00a0Cheesecakes are good because they can be made the day before.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients, crust:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 1\/2 packages chocolate wafer, finely ground (food processor does great)(or use OreoToday cookie bits -1 lb of bits=2 heaping cups = 4 c crumbs)<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 c butter, melted<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp grated orange peel (micro-plane for the win!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ingredients, filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 eggs<\/li>\n<li>1 c sugar<\/li>\n<li>24 oz cream cheese (the block kind. \u00a0Do not use whipped\/spread kind.)<\/li>\n<li>12 oz semi sweet chocolate, melted<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c frozen orange juice concentrate<\/li>\n<li>1 c sour cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Ingredients, topping:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 c heavy cream<\/li>\n<li>2 Tab powdered sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions, crust:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven 400\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>Combine ground wafers, melted butter, orange peel and sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Press into a well greased 10 inch springform pan.<\/li>\n<li>Bake 10 min.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Directions, filling:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Beat eggs with sugar until light.<\/li>\n<li>Beat in cream cheese until smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Add melted chocolate, vanilla, salt and sour cream.<\/li>\n<li>Turn into crumb crust and bake at 350\u00b0 one hour or until the cheesecake is just firm when the pan is gently shaken.<\/li>\n<li>Cool and refrigerate covered, over night.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Directions, topping:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Whip cream and sugar until firm enough to hold shape.<\/li>\n<li>Decorate cake with pastry tube.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> \u00a016<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source: \u00a0<\/strong>Ladies&#8217; Home Journal<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is an old recipe from the 60&#8217;s &#8211; not instant but worth the effort. \u00a0Cheesecakes are good because they can be made the day before.
