{"id":2598,"date":"2015-09-07T09:07:57","date_gmt":"2015-09-07T15:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=2598"},"modified":"2015-09-07T09:07:57","modified_gmt":"2015-09-07T15:07:57","slug":"sherry-glazed-spareribs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/sherry-glazed-spareribs.html","title":{"rendered":"Sherry Glazed Spareribs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>For those who want something other than bbq sauce for their ribs. \u00a0You can have the butcher cut the ribs in half and they make a hardy appetizer.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 side spareribs (about 2 pounds)<\/li>\n<li>salt and pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 c sherry (or dry white wine)<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 c honey<\/li>\n<li>2 Tab red wine vinegar<\/li>\n<li>2 Tab onions, diced<\/li>\n<li>1 clove garlic, minced or smashed<\/li>\n<li>1.4 tsp Worcestershire sauce.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sprinkle the whole side of ribs with salt and pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Place in a shallow pan and bake in a hot oven (400\u00b0) for 40 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Drain off all the fat from the pan.<\/li>\n<li>Combine remaining ingredients.<\/li>\n<li>Pour over ribs.,<\/li>\n<li>Lower oven to 350\u00b0 and bake ribs 1 1\/2 hours longer or until tender.<\/li>\n<li>Cut apart to serve. \u00a0(I sometime cut them before cooking &#8211; easier serving.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>(After baking you can bless them on the bbq for that smoky taste.
