{"id":2613,"date":"2015-09-18T13:32:51","date_gmt":"2015-09-18T19:32:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=2613"},"modified":"2026-01-20T09:53:26","modified_gmt":"2026-01-20T16:53:26","slug":"sumi-salad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/sumi-salad.html","title":{"rendered":"Sumi Salad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Love this great Asian cabbage salad! \u00a0Serve as a main dish by adding chicken or shrimp. \u00a0Peanuts are good too.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 Tab oil<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c sliced almonds<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c sesame seeds<\/li>\n<li>8 green onions, finely sliced &#8211; including the green part<\/li>\n<li>1 head cabbage, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>2 (3 oz) pkg Ramen \u00a0noodles, broken into pieces (save the seasoning packet for something else.)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>6 Tab rice vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 c oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oil in \u00a0skillet.<\/li>\n<li>Toast almonds and sesame seeds lightly.<\/li>\n<li>Mix sugar, salt, rice vinegar, pepper and oil.<\/li>\n<li>Combine with onions, cabbage, dressing.<\/li>\n<li>Cover and chill several hours.<\/li>\n<li>Just before serving, add Ramen noodles.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with almonds and sesamie seeds.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves: <\/strong>10 1\/2 cups<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> Jay, cook for COR staff.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Love this great Asian cabbage salad! \u00a0Serve as a main dish by adding chicken or shrimp. \u00a0Peanuts are good too.
