{"id":2663,"date":"2015-10-19T07:08:20","date_gmt":"2015-10-19T13:08:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=2663"},"modified":"2016-02-19T13:15:14","modified_gmt":"2016-02-19T20:15:14","slug":"sui-mai-steamed-meat-dumplings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/sui-mai-steamed-meat-dumplings.html","title":{"rendered":"Sui Mai &#8211; Steamed Meat Dumplings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>More dim sum from Wei-ling Louie. \u00a0You will need a steamer for these.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pkg round won ton skins<\/li>\n<li>1 lb lean ground pork (better if finely chopped)<\/li>\n<li>3 &#8211; 4 dried mushrooms, soaked and minced<\/li>\n<li>1 green onion, minced<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c water chestnuts, minced (5-6)<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 c bamboo shoots<\/li>\n<li>2 stalks Napa cabbage, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp ginger root, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 Tab sherry<\/li>\n<li>3 Tab light Chinese soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 Tab corn starch<\/li>\n<li>1 egg, beaten<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Combine all ingredients except the won ton skins and mix thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of one won ton skin and gather the sides of the skin around the filling &#8211; sort of pleating.<\/li>\n<li>Squeeze the middle gently to make sure the skin fits firmly against the filling.<\/li>\n<li>Flatten the bottom slightly so that it stands upright.<\/li>\n<li>The open top can be decorated with a carrot flower.<\/li>\n<li>Steam in steamer for 25 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves: \u00a0<\/strong>Probably make about 24 &#8211; 30.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> \u00a0Wei-ling Louie<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>More dim sum from Wei-ling Louie. \u00a0You will need a steamer for these.
