{"id":306,"date":"2011-11-02T07:15:14","date_gmt":"2011-11-02T14:15:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=306"},"modified":"2018-07-09T05:11:34","modified_gmt":"2018-07-09T11:11:34","slug":"angelia-pia-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/angelia-pia-2.html","title":{"rendered":"Angela Pia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Once upon a time (in the 50&#8217;s-60&#8217;s) there was a restaurant in San Francisco &#8211; Pietro&#8217;s 311.\u00a0 One of\u00a0 a multitude of North Beach\/produce district hangouts, this one served a wonderful dessert &#8211;\u00a0 Angela Pia.\u00a0 And they would share the recipe.\u00a0 It is a bit &#8220;fussy&#8221; but worth the effort.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 Eggs, separated<\/li>\n<li>1 c Cream, whipped<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp Vanilla<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd\u00a0c Sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 oz Brandy<\/li>\n<li>1 oz Rum<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp unflavored gelatin (1 envelope)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Soak gelatin in \u00bc\u00a0c cold water for 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Stir over hot water until dissolved completely.<\/li>\n<li>Beat egg yolks and sugar until lemon colored.<\/li>\n<li>Add rum and brandy.<\/li>\n<li>Whip cream to soft peaks.<\/li>\n<li>Add vanilla<\/li>\n<li>Beat egg whites.<\/li>\n<li>Stir gelatin into egg yolk mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Fold beaten egg whites, whipped cream, egg yolk mixture together.<\/li>\n<li>Pour into individual dishes.<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> 4 &#8211; 6<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Keeps only 24 hours.\u00a0 Turns rubbery.<\/li>\n<li>You can double but not triple (don&#8217;t know why, but it doesn&#8217;t work)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> Pietro&#8217;s 311, 311 Washington St, San Francisco\u00a0 (Telephone Yukon 6-0605)\u00a0 Long Gone, too bad.<\/p>\n<p align=\"LEFT\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Once upon a time (in the 50&#8217;s-60&#8217;s) there was a restaurant in San Francisco &#8211; Pietro&#8217;s 311.\u00a0 One of\u00a0 a multitude of North Beach\/produce district hangouts, this one served a wonderful dessert &#8211;\u00a0 Angela Pia.\u00a0 And they would share the recipe.\u00a0 It is a bit &#8220;fussy&#8221; but worth the effort.
