There is nothing like &#8220;from scratch&#8221; pizza &#8211; if you have time. \u00a0This is just a beginning. \u00a0You can add salami, mushrooms, anchovies, Italian sausage, olives, onions, whatever.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 pkg yeast<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp salt<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 c lukewarm water<\/li>\n<li>3 1\/2 c flour<\/li>\n<li>olive oil<\/li>\n<li>4 -6 fresh tomatoes, peeled, sliced<\/li>\n<li>3\/4 lb cheese mozzarella or Jack, sliced or grated (3 cups)<\/li>\n<li>dried oregano<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with salt.<\/li>\n<li>Allow to stand 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Sift flour into a large bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Make a hollow in the center.<\/li>\n<li>Pour in the yeast mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Work the flour into the liquid little by little.<\/li>\n<li>If necessary, add a little more water so that the dough is soft and smooth.<\/li>\n<li>Roll into a ball and set to rise in a covered, greased bowl in a warm place.<\/li>\n<li>When dough has doubled in bulk, knead for several minuets.<\/li>\n<li>Divide into six pieces.<\/li>\n<li>Roll into circles 1\/8th inch thick. Edges should be slightly thicker to form a rim.<\/li>\n<li>Place on ungreased cookie sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Brush each round lightly with oil on both sides.<\/li>\n<li>Cover with layer of tomatoes, then cheese.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle lightly with oregano.<\/li>\n<li>Bake in preheated 450\u00b0\u00a0oven for 10 minutes until lightly browned.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves: \u00a0<\/strong>6<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> \u00a0Maglare Alla Italiana<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Try it once.
