{"id":3725,"date":"2017-05-16T09:07:01","date_gmt":"2017-05-16T15:07:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=3725"},"modified":"2017-05-16T10:56:27","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T16:56:27","slug":"bacon-wrapped-onion-rings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/bacon-wrapped-onion-rings.html","title":{"rendered":"Bacon Wrapped Onion Rings"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ERSName\">\u00a0<em>There are several variations of this on line but there is nothing wrong with an un-enhanced treat. \u00a0If you want to try some different treatments try brushing the onions with Shiraka sauce, BBQ sauce, or soy sauce. \u00a0<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERSClear\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ERSIngredients\">\n<div class=\"ERSIngredientsHeader ERSHeading\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">3-4 sweet onions, large (the flater the better &#8211; like Maui onions)<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">2 lbs bacon, not thick\u00a0sliced<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient\">Toothpicks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ERSInstructions\">\n<div class=\"ERSInstructionsHeader ERSHeading\"><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/div>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cut the root end and stem end off the onion.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Peel the skin from the outer layer of the onion.<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Cut the onion into \u00bd inch slices and remove the centers to only leave about 2 layers. \u00a0(If your onions are large enough you may get another two layer piece from the center.)<\/li>\n<li class=\"instruction\">Wrap strips of bacon around the edges of the onion slices.
