There is also powdered buttermilk in the store. \u00a0Fresh works best.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup buttermilk, well-shaken<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup mayonnaise (this is more than is in the original, to thicken the dressing further)<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons cider vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon sugar<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons finely chopped red onion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mix the dressing ingredients in a jar with a lid, with a good pinch of salt and black pepper.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves: \u00a0<\/strong>Makes about one cup, enough for six cups of slaw<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source: \u00a0<\/strong>Smitten Kitchen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This dressing can be made quickly in a jar. \u00a0I have frozen butter milk, but it become very thin.
