The combinations for this are endless. Family favorites include: mozzarella with pepperoni and pizza sauce,\u00a0 jack cheese with green chilies, Jarlsberg and bay shrimp with Dijon\u00a0mustard, and brie with sun-dried tomatoes and pesto.\u00a0 If you can get the restaurant size puff pastry this makes a REALLY impressive hors d&#8217;oeuvre.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Ingredients:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>17 ounces Frozen Puff Pastry, defrosted<\/li>\n<li>1 cup Havarti Cheese, grated<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon Fresh Dill Weed, chopped<\/li>\n<li>Dijon mustard<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Directions:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Defrost puff pastry in the refrigerator over night.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.<\/li>\n<li>Place a sheet of pastry on a rimless baking sheet.<\/li>\n<li>Brush with a thin spread of mustard.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with cheese and dill, leaving a 1\/2 inch border.<\/li>\n<li>Moisten the edge of sheet with water.<\/li>\n<li>Place second sheet on top.<\/li>\n<li>Seal edges with the tines of a fork.<\/li>\n<li>Pierce top sheet of pastry with a fork.<\/li>\n<li>Return to the refrigerator for half an hour &#8211; it puffs up more.<\/li>\n<li>Bake approximately 15 &#8211; 20 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Slide onto cutting\/serving board.<\/li>\n<li>Let rest 5 minutes before cutting into small squares and serving.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0<\/strong>12 or so.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:\u00a0 <\/strong>Freezes well uncooked.\u00a0 We always have one in the freezer &#8220;just in case&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:<\/strong> \u00a0The Hobbit Restaurant, Orange, CA<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"leftthumb25\" class=\"rISBZc M4dUYb alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTplHN40r4lVE7Wdtg6iGrzMMHRwlIr4qzJWLqnAsf3erOD5S6i4Aly4g\" alt=\"puff pastry sandwich from afterorangecounty.com\" width=\"70\" height=\"101\" data-atf=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So easy you can make it at the drop of a hat.
