{"id":4359,"date":"2018-01-20T10:32:12","date_gmt":"2018-01-20T17:32:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=4359"},"modified":"2019-01-18T16:49:10","modified_gmt":"2019-01-18T23:49:10","slug":"goobers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/goobers.html","title":{"rendered":"Cream Cheese Rolls aka Goobers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em> The plan is to spread the cream cheese on the beef and then place the pickle slice\u00a0on one edge and roll it up into a log.\u00a0 You will use your best judgment on how many slices of beef per roll.\u00a0 You want about a 1 inch roll when you are done.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 oz cream cheese softened (or use the whipped cream cheese &#8211; easy-pesy)<\/li>\n<li>2 pkg\u00a0thin sliced beef (Buddig)<\/li>\n<li>1 &#8211; 2 long dill pickle spear<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp horseradish (more if you like a little bite.)<\/li>\n<li>dash garlic salt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cut the pickle spear into long thin slices &#8211; about 1\/4 of the pickle unless it is one of those huge ones.<\/li>\n<li>Dry on a paper towel.<\/li>\n<li>Mix cream cheese, horseradish and garlic salt.<\/li>\n<li>Separate sliced meat.<\/li>\n<li>Spread one slice with a thin layer of cream cheese mixture.\u00a0 About a scant quarter of an inch or so will do.<\/li>\n<li>Lay the next slice of beef on top of the first slice but slightly offset, about an inch to 1 1\/2 inches lower on the slice.<\/li>\n<li>Cover it with cream cheese.<\/li>\n<li>Continue on for 5 slices.<\/li>\n<li>Place pickle slice on\u00a0the bottom edge.<\/li>\n<li>Starting at the bottom roll up\u00a0tightly.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat with remaining pickle slices, meat and cream cheese.<\/li>\n<li>Refrigerate, covered, until firm, at least 2 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Just before serving, cut into 1\/2 inch slices.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Maybe 6 &#8211; 8.\u00a0 We have teenagers who will eat the whole plate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>The Dell-Imagine family.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The plan is to spread the cream cheese on the beef and then place the pickle slice\u00a0on one edge and roll it up into a log.\u00a0 You will use your best judgment on how many slices of beef per roll.\u00a0 You want about a 1 inch roll when you are done.
