{"id":4421,"date":"2017-08-23T11:45:15","date_gmt":"2017-08-23T17:45:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/?p=4421"},"modified":"2019-02-21T11:23:45","modified_gmt":"2019-02-21T18:23:45","slug":"koa-baked-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hill-kleerup.org\/blog\/margie\/koa-baked-beans.html","title":{"rendered":"KOA BBQ Beans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>When you are dealing with a large crowd &#8211; \u00a0simple is best. \u00a0Quick to put together &#8211; An hour and a half to cook! \u00a0Really delicious and worth the wait.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a01 10 can \u00a0pork &amp; beans<\/li>\n<li>\u00a04 Onions, large \u00a0&#8211; \u00a0coarsely chopped (or use 4 c frozen diced onions)<\/li>\n<li>\u00a01 c \u00a0brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00a02 tsp yellow mustard<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 2 c catsup<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 4 tsp. Worcestershire<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Mix it all together in a large pot.<\/li>\n<li>Heat, stirring occasionally.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Or &#8211;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove 2 cups of beans.<\/li>\n<li>Set aside.<\/li>\n<li>Add other ingredients to the remaining beans\u00a0in the \u00a0can.<\/li>\n<li>Set the can in a large pot.<\/li>\n<li>Fill the pot with water within a couple of inches of the top of the can.<\/li>\n<li>Heat, stirring occasionally until warm. (No danger of scorching \/burning &#8211; good for those who are easily distracted.)<\/li>\n<li>When hot, stir in remaining beans.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Serves: \u00a0<\/strong>25<\/p>\n<p><strong>Source: \u00a0<\/strong>Cathy Painter\/Allison\u00a0\u00a0Painter<\/p>\n<p><em>For a smaller crowd not camping out.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 16-oz. cans pork and beans<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc c brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd tsp. mustard<\/li>\n<li>\u00bd c catsup<\/li>\n<li>2 small onions, thinly sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp.
